Aim of the course

The course gives a first introduction to empirical research methods. It covers topics such as research design, the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative social data. State-of-the-art theory is applied to real-life examples during in-class exercises. Own research questions can be worked on in class as well as in one-on-one consultation with the instructor.
